Aug. 30, 1972 - Jan. 07, 2016

Michael Lee Alberts, Jr., beloved husband, dad, and grandfather, lost his battle with brain cancer on Jan. 7, 2016 in Fallon, surrounded by his family. Mike was born in Colorado Springs in 1972. In 1979, the family moved to Texas. He graduated from Prairie Land High School in 1990. At the age of 17, he joined the Navy where he worked as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and was affectionately called “Tex” or “Cowboy”. He had to take a medical retirement after his

diagnosis in 2007 and returned to TX until 2014 when they returned to Fallon. Mike volunteered to take part in various cancer treatments in an effort to help others facing brain cancer, especially children, to give the hope and a cure.

In 1998, he met Brenda Bliss Woods and they married in 2001. Mike loved spending time with family and friends, the outdoors, and the cowboy way of life. This was the reason he started a horse rescue ranch while in TX. Mike was always happy and willing to give to others and was adored and loved by all who knew him. Mike is survived by his parents: Michael Alberts, Sr., Terri Alberts, Janet Dickerson, and David Dickerson; his adoring wife, Brenda Alberts; his children: Cory Woods, Cheyanne Woods, and Samantha Nichols; his grandchildren: Aiden, Brayleen, Alyjha, Ellie, Keyonna, Dacin, Haven, and Brooke; as well as many other brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by twin granddaughters: Baylin and Elaineeaa; and grandparents: Alvin and Claudine Smith. Services will be held at the Fallon Seventh Day Adventist Church, 755 Esmeralda St., Fallon, NV at 2:00 p.m. on January 16, 2016, with a dinner to follow at the SDA Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mike’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
