TWAW Shooting Chapters, Inc. is opening a new chapter here in Northern Nevada. Spearheaded by Susan Schwertfeger, a local gun enthusiast, TWAW Northern Nevada Shooting Chapter offers women of all experience levels training ad information about safe gun handling skills.

The group is partnering with local gun ranges to host monthly events, open to women 21 and older. Participants will be required to pay range fees and costs of ammunition or firearm rentals. Annual Chapter membership dues of $50 offers members local and national discounts, a chapter hat and a member kit. First time attendees are not required to join.

Meet and greet meetings are planned at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 23 at Sparks Branch Library, 1125 12th St., and at 6 p.m. Jan. 26 at Spanish Springs Library, 7100 Pyramid Highway. There will be a raffle for those in attendance. Firearms are not allowed at the library.
