Jerry passed away on December 14, 2015 at Carson Tahoe Regional medical center after losing his battle with cancer. Jerry was born on December 27, 1955 in San Diego, CA to marine Master Sergeant James “Bud” Dyke and Jeanie Barry Dyke.

He graduated from Carson High in 1974 after which he began his career with Nevada Dept. of Transportation (NDOT). He worked in Planning Division’s traffic Section his entire time at NDOT. Jerry spent several years in Elko covering the northern part of the state, later coming back to headquarters in Carson City. He retired with 32 years of service. Jerry was actively involved with Special Olympics in both Elko and Carson City. He was a man of integrity and patience, and enjoyed music. He was predeceased by is father, James “Bud” Dyke. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Susan, daughters Julie Judy (Chris) of Lakewood, Wa., Jamie of Carson City, mother Jeanie Dyke, sisters Kathy Harris, Teresa Dyke, brother Jim Dyke, uncle Denny Barry, three nephews and one niece. No service was held, but a celebration of life was held hosted by his friends and family at the Feisty Goat on December 27, 2015. It would have been his 60th birthday.
