Claybreakers host state shooters in Fallon

The Lahontan Valley Claybreakers Trap Shooting Club hosted the 2016 Nevada Youth Shooting Sports Association (NYSSA) State Shoot at the Fallon Trap Club. Shooters from as far away as Elko and Las Vegas traveled to Fallon to compete with shooters from Reno, Carson City, Yerington and Fallon.

Throughout the three-day event the Claybreaker Coaches held Fun Shoots and a pizza party as a get together for the shooters and their families.

Shooting started on the second day with everyone shooting 200 targets, except for Rookies who only shoot 100 targets. Boy Scout Troop 494 from Fernley served a complimentary lunch, and Friends of Stillwater, Wetlands and Wings committee members served ice cream.

ROOKIE RESULTS

1st Place Rookie and Member of the NYSSA Rookie State Team: Matthew Ing.

2nd Place Rookie and Member of the NYSSA Rookie State Team: John Rowe.

Rookie 1st Place Team consisted of John Rowe, Broden Pirkle, Matthew Ing, Evan Frossard and Sophia Jeffs.

INTERMEDIATE ENTRY RESULTS

1st Place Intermediate Entry and member of the NYSSA Intermediate State Team: Tony Adams.

3rd Place Intermediate Entry and member of the NYSSA Intermediate State Team: Colby Webb.

Intermediate 1st Place Team consisted of Tony Adams, Colby Webb, Matt Ernst, Dax Smith and Marilee Golden.

JUNIOR VARSITY RESULTS

1st Place Junior Varsity and member the NYSSA Junior Varsity State Team: Noah Osterman.

Also placing on the NYSSA Junior Varsity State Team: William Card.

Junior Varsity 3rd Place Team consisted of William Card, Noah Osterman, Sidney Drost, Zach Barnes and Trenton Homer.

VARSITY RESULTS

3rd Place Varsity and member of the NYSSA Varsity State Team: Tristan Porter.

Also placing on the NYSSA Varsity State Team was Dalin Conner.

Varsity 3rd Place Team consisted of Hunter Drost, Jacob Ledesma, Jarryd Williams, Dalin Conner and Andrew McArthur.

Also participating were: Dakota Marsh, Matthew Price and Marly Green.

LADY INDIVIDUAL RESULTS:

2nd Place Lady and member of NYSSA Lady State Team: Olivia Barber.

Also participating was Amber Mello, Marly Green, Sidney Drost, Marilee Green and Sophia Jeffs.

COLLEGIATE/ALUMNI RESULTS:

2nd Place Collegiate/Alumni and member of the NYSSA Collegiate/Alumni State Team: Derek Whitten.

Also participating: Olivia Barber and Amber Mello.

2nd Place Collegiate/Alumni team consisted of Olivia Barber, Derek Whitten and Amber Mello.

Coaching the Claybreakers this year were Dwight Jones-NAS, Barry Stewart, Michael Adams, Derek Whitten, Olivia Barber, Steve Bohrn, Derek Sammaripa, Trent Barnes, Lester Webb, Mike Osterman, Kenny Pickle, John Rowe, Andy Robertson, Rebb Rebbetoy and Wayne Whitten.
