Applications are being taken through June 20 for a Churchill County School position that became open after Ron Evans resigned last week.
Applications may be obtained at the district offices or from the district’s website at www.churchill.k12.nv.us. The term of the appointment is from the date of selection to Dec. 31.
In a letter to Clay Hendrix, president of the school board, Evans said his resignation was due to health and personal reasons.
Evans was first elected in 2006 but did not run for re-election four years later. He decided to enter the school board race in 2012 and won. In March Evans decided not to run for re-election.
Trustees will interview selected applicants at their meeting on June 23, the only meeting for the month, at the district office boardroom. The board will then take action to appoint a trustee to Evans’ vacancy.
The school district has also moved next month’s meeting date to July 28.
