Community Cars of Carson City is providing a native family with a refurbished vehicle during the Stewart Indian School Father’s Day Powwow at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 19 at 5500 Snyder Ave.

Community Cars of Carson City is a not-for-profit organization that works with the National Auto Body Council’s Recycled Rides program and local businesses to acquire, refurbish and donate vehicles to individuals and families in the community. With the help of local sponsors, the organization takes recovered or total loss vehicles and coordinates the necessary parts and labor to bring the vehicles up to a safe operating condition and provides them to recipients free of charge. Organizations can send nominations of individual and family candidates to the selection committee.

The donated vehicle was sponsored by Rupert’s Auto Body, Clay Murray State Farm Agency, D&S Towing, Maaco Collision Repair & Auto Painting (Reno), Sherwin Williams, D&S Towing and Prestige Car Wash & Detail Center. Community Cars of Carson City thanks the sponsors for making the donation possible.
