The Carson City Sheriff’s Coroner’s Office has identified the remains of a man found last Friday as Steven Deselle.

The 49-year-old Carson City resident was reported missing on Dec. 7, and a SUV matching Deselle’s with a deceased body inside was found on Feb. 26 in the Pine Nut Range, just east of Carson City. Inside the vehicle was also a gun.

Due to extreme decomposition, identification from the Coroner’s Office was delayed. However, it was determined the manner of death was suicide by gunshot.
