Nevada’s ‘Big Give’ to charities

Nevadans will be coming together Thursday for one day of online giving to organizations across the state.

NevadaGIVES is conducting Nevada’s Big Give event, an online giving from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. benefiting registered 501(c)(3) organizations in Nevada. The event is to foster charitable giving by encouraging Nevadans to give where they live.

“NevadaGIVES believes in the power of each person to make a positive difference in our community,” said Diana Morgan, NevadaGIVES board president. “Nevada’s Big Give celebrates that positive impact and promotes charitable giving by providing an online platform through which to support your favorite non profits or search for new causes. Our goal this year is to reach 7,000 donors with this campaign through further engagement of non profits and public schools.”

Many organizations that serve Churchill County are also listed.

The Salvation Army helps more people in more ways than any other national charity from family services to disaster relief, veteran services, care for seniors, domestic abuse victim services and those affected by substance abuse.
