Carson City Sierra Place hosting free events in April

Sierra Place Senior Living, 1111 W. College Parkway, is offering free events in April.

The Monday Night Music Series offers live music at 6:45 p.m. Mondays. Piano music by Vicki Hamilton is planned April 4 and 18, and a sing-along with Sonja Fischer is April 25.

Embracing Change and Aging with Geri Meyer, a retired therapist, is at 10 a.m. April 2 and 16. Meyer’s discussion group meets at 10 a.m. on the first and third Saturdays of the month.

The tongue-in-cheek cowboy entertainer Sourdough Slim is performing at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 10.

Historian Mark McLaughlin will talk about the history of snow surveying in the Sierra at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 12.

Colleen Crum will talk about her experience working as a mission volunteer in Haiti at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 26. Crum’s talk will explore the Haitian people, culture and relief efforts following the 2010 earthquake.
