Substitute teachers can learn tips to create a better learning environment for themselves and their students through a Saturday class offered at Western Nevada College Carson City Campus on April 2 and 9.
Management Methods for Substitute Teachers (EPD 276), taught by Lori Magnante, meets from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The one-unit class offers practical methods and ready-to-use ideas for K-12 substitutes, including models of discipline, active participation, instant ideas, transition activities, as well as methods for dealing with problem behavior, inclusion strategies and attention signals.
