Carson City Sheriff’s Office: Woman arrested after driving into a fence, tree

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

THURSDAY

At 3:15 a.m., Nathan Oakie, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony robbery, felony grand larceny-auto, felony resisting arrest with violence and felony battery with a deadly weapon after deputies responded to reports of a robber at the Carson Street 7-11. The suspect fled to 20 College Parkway where Oakie tried to flee from police by taking a police car and fighting with deputies. Bail was set at $40,000

At 11:02 a.m., a 51-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of hit and run-unoccupied, DUI-drugs, failure to maintain lane, resisting a public officer and no current proof of insurance after deputies responded to reports of a vehicle hitting a light pole near the 3200 N. Carson Street. The suspect fled the scene and drove into a fence and tree near the 1800 block of Winnie Lane. Bail was set at $2,444.

At 2:07 p.m., a 31-year-old Hidden Valley Lake, Calif., man was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana and open container after deputies conducted a traffic stop near the 3800 block of Highway 50. Bail was set at $700.

At 5:25 p.m., a 23-year-old transient woman was arrested on suspicion of arrest of a probationer after deputies conducted a consensual stop near Clearview Drive and Carson Street. Bail was set at $3,000.

At 8:26 p.m., Tammy Sorensen, 53, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after deputies initiated a traffic stop near the 3300 block of Highway 50. At the same incident, a 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of driving on a revoked license, no insurance, obedience on a traffic control device and stop lamps required. Bail for Sorensen was set at $3,500 and bail for the 26-year-old was set at $1,165.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes. Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 775-322-4900.
