Carson City Sheriff’s Office: Man arrested on suspicion of intimidating a peace officer

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

Carson City

THURSDAY

At 2:07 p.m., Gibb Olivarez, 48, of Dayton was arrested on felony DUI with prior felony conviction, felony probation violation and non-resident suspended or revoked driver’s license after deputies initiated a traffic stop near the 3800 block of Highway 50. Bail was set at $20,500.

At 5:37 p.m., a 36-year-old Silver Springs man was arrested on suspicion of injury to property warrant after deputies responded to keep the peace near the 1200 block of Woodside Drive. Bail was set at $1,495.

FRIDAY

At 1:35 p.m., a 54-year-old Fernley man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of violation of an extended protection order and violation of bail conditions after deputies conducted a traffic stop near Sherman Lane and Viking Way. Bail was set at $9,000.

SATURDAY

At 12:15 a.m., a 26-year-old Dayton man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, no valid driver’s license and failure to maintain lane after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Highway 50 and Nye Lane. Bail was set at $1,140.

At 11:36 a.m., a 52-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of petit larceny after deputies responded to reports of a man taking items from the Market Street Walmart. Bail was set at $250.

SUNDAY

At 1:10 a.m., a 24-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI, failure to use headlights, open container and domestic battery warrant after deputies initiated a traffic stop near the 3300 block of N. Carson Street. Bail was set at $4,265.

At 1:26 a.m., a 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of destruction of property, disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer after deputies responded to reports of a fight at the William Street Remedy’s Bar. Bail was set at $950.

At 6:22 a.m., a 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of intimidating a public officer after deputies responded to reports of a man being violent at the Carson Tahoe Hospital. When deputies arrived, the man allegedly told officers that he wanted to have a gun brawl and was Tased by deputies. Bail was set at $5,000.

At 8:10 p.m., a 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of obstructing an officer, violation of a suspended sentence warrant and driving without a valid driver’s license after deputies initiated a traffic stop near the 2800 block of Menlo Drive. Bail was set at $3,400.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes. Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 775-322-4900.
