In recognition of National Cancer Survivors Day on Sunday, June 5, Carson Tahoe Health is holding Survivors Expressions, a free event in honor of people who have been touched by cancer.

The event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center, 1535 Medical Parkway, will feature a collection of art by local cancer survivors and patients and their family members. The display also includes artwork by cancer patients and survivors from across the nation, courtesy of the Lilly Oncology on Canvas, who is donating free breakfast to those who attend the event.

“Carson Tahoe Health is grateful for the strong partnership we’ve developed with Lilly Oncology on Canvas, and thankful for all they have done in support of our community,” said Annie Millard, cancer services director at Carson Tahoe Health. “We encourage people throughout the region to come together during Survivors Expressions as we celebrate hope, healing, and life.”

Attendees will receive a free commemorative T-shirt while supplies last. Come and enjoy a serene walk around the medical campus, helpful resources on preventing and treating cancer, and inspiring art displays representing the unique process of healing through the cancer journey.
