Dayton Valley Branch Library is asking adults to join in on the fun of reading this summer.

The Friends of the Dayton Valley Library is sponsoring Summer Reading for Adults starting with a kick-off event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 11, in the Dayton Branch Library, 321 Old Dayton Valley Road, Dayton. The event coincides with a summer reading party for children outside the library. Participants can meet other readers and talk about books. At 11:30 a.m., meet local author Laura Tennant, who will present about her book and sign copies.

The kickoff event is the second in a series of monthly events celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Dayton library, which opened in February 1997. The library’s goal is to reach 300 adults readers by July 23.
