Get a jump-start on holiday shopping Nov. 3-5 when more than two dozen regional artists will be selling pottery, photography, jewelry, paintings, sculptures, furniture, textiles and other wares at the Carson Mall.

The Carson Mall, Bridger Mountain Boutique and Charlie B Gallery are working together to put on the inaugural Carson Mall Fine Arts Faire from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 3; 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 4; and 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 5.

Organizers are using the event to advocate for the arts and enlist the public’s help in supporting local artists.

Participating artists are offered free booth space to sell their work, while the public can attend for free and show its support for the local art scene.

More than 25 artists, primarily from Northern Nevada and as far away as Kalispell, Mont., will be on hand.

Besides the art marketplace, art workshops also will be offered.

There will be a focus on pottery and painting, with pinch pot pottery sessions planned by Jo and Merrill Moore of Ogres-Holm Pottery of Carson City. The pottery session will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 4.

A watercolor session with Lee Netzel, an award winning artist from Carson City, will be from 11 a.m. to noon Nov. 5.

In addition, live musicians from the area will share their talent each day.

CW and Dr. Spitmore will play from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 3. Linda Arnn Arteno will perform from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 4, and In Stride, mandolin and guitar music by Stan and Johanna Soliday, will be from noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 5.
