The Carson City Board of Supervisors Thursday will look at an agreement with the Downtown Neighborhood Improvement District for maintenance of downtown streets.
The downtown NID was created earlier this year and assesses property in the district for a fund to take care of improvements made in the Downtown Streetscape Enhancement Project.
The agreement establishes the general responsibilities of the Downtown NID and the city, and relates to the maintenance of only those portions of the downtown improvements that front private properties within the district.
The city is contributing $26,742, what it has historically spent in the area, while the property owners are being assessed $49,736 for a first-year fund of $76,208.
The board also will vote whether to direct the city treasurer to sell properties in arrears on property taxes since June, 2013, an item that was pulled from an earlier agenda.
The properties would be sold for not less than the taxes owed on each, which totals $169,370.09.
The supervisors will interview applicants for the Airport Authority. The seven-member authority has open seats for representatives from a manufacturer and a fixed base operator. Larry Harvey and Aaron Collins are the two applicants.
The board will vote whether to accept a $52,461 grant requiring a 25 percent match from the Nevada Department of Wildlife to build a vault toilet restroom facility and associated site improvements at the popular Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range.
In other actions, the board will vote to approve a $58,485.72 payment for the Carson City Library’s membership in the Cooperative Libraries Automated Network; a purchase not to exceed $432,500 for vaccinations and pharmaceuticals for Carson City Health and Human Services; and the reclassification of an hourly advanced practice registered nurse to full-time position at a salary range of $83,847-$98,170 at the Jail and Juvenile Detention.
