The annual chili feed that takes place during the Nevada Day Parade will once again be hosted by Sen. Dean Heller.
Heller, who was raised in Carson City, hosted the annual event for the first time last year.
The event, featuring the Carson Nugget’s famous chili, began in 1982 and has become a Nevada Day tradition. It was hosted by former U.S. Senator Richard Bryan for the first 19 years and was then passed onto former Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki before Heller took over last year.
“As a long-standing Nevada Day tradition, the chili feed brings together Nevadans and their federal, state, and local officials,” Heller said. “It always provides a fun and lively atmosphere, and I’m sure this year will be no different. I encourage everyone from across the state to join us at the Carson Nugget to celebrate this annual tradition.”
Everyone is invited to attend the free community event which will be held in the upstairs banquet rooms at the Carson Nugget on Saturday, Oct. 29. Chili will be dished out for free from noon to 2 p.m.
Located in the heart of the Nevada Day festivities, the chili feed delivers a unique opportunity to celebrate with friends while socializing with federal, state and local leaders.
At 507 N. Carson St., the Carson Nugget is the official Diamond sponsor of this year’s parade.
