Carson City man gets life in prison for Sparks robbery

RENO — A Carson City man has been sentenced to life in prison for a robbery in Sparks.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that 57-year-old Keith Turner Sr. was sentenced last week after previously pleading guilty to robbery.

Turner, who has a history of multiple felony convictions, will have to serve a minimum of 10 years in prison before he is eligible for parole.

Sparks police say Turner threatened a woman with a stun gun in May 2015 before taking her purse and rental car. Police later found the car parked at a Reno casino.
