Carson City Sheriff’s Office: Man arrested on possession of a stolen vehicle

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

THURSDAY

At 4:16 p.m., Alfred Ward, 36, a transient was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic battery with strangulation after deputies responded to reports of a man and woman yelling at each other outside the Carson Street Grocery Outlet. Bail was set at $15,000.

At 5:16 p.m., Samantha Shipman, 19, a transient, was arrested on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon and minor consuming alcohol after deputies responded to reports of a man with a gun near College Parkway. Shipman had allegedly come to the victim’s door and was throwing rocks at him. Bail was set at $20,150.

At 6:02 p.m., Cirilo Viramontes-Ruiz, 46, a transient, was arrested on suspicion of felony trafficking a controlled substance, felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana after deputies responded to reports of drug activity near the 500 block of Hot Springs Road. Viramontes-Ruiz allegedly attempted to flee on foot from deputies but was detained shortly. Bail was set at $3,100.

At 6:49 p.m., a 25-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana less than one ounce, expired registration and violation of a suspended sentence after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Division and William Streets. Bail was set at $2,550.

At 9:26 p.m., a 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of probation violation after deputies responded to reports of a possible overdose near the 1000 block of S. Carson Street. Bail was set at $3,000.

At 10:11 p.m., a 47-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of violation of suspended sentence, failure to appear warrant, suspended registration and driving with a revoked license after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Airport Road and Woodside Drive. Bail was set at $1,265.

At 10:26 p.m., a 38-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of violation of a temporary protection order after deputies responded to reports of an order violation near the 1400 block of N. Carson Street. Bail was set at $1,000.

At 11:44 p.m., Gabriel Wilson, 38, a transient, was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a stolen vehicle, obstruction and Department of Alternative Sentencing violation after deputies discovered a stolen vehicle at the Carson Street Nugget Casino. Deputies initiated a high risk traffic stop on the vehicle, and had to initiate a bean bag shot after the occupant allegedly refused to exit the vehicle.

FRIDAY

At 1:42 a.m., a 24-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of two counts of violation of a suspended sentence after deputies initiated a traffic stop near William and Anderson. Bail was set at $6,000.

At 2:50 a.m., a 47-year-old transient man was arrested on suspicion of contempt of court and possession of drug paraphernalia after deputies initiated a consensual stop near Stewart and Lee Streets. Bail was set at $1,491.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes. Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 775-322-4900.
