Smith Valley Historical Society is hosting an open house on Oct. 1 to showcase new exhibits and updates about a building project and the Wells Fargo Stage Office. The event will be from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Little Red School House in downtown Wellington.
On Oct. 2, the Society is sponsoring an exhibit booth at Rotary’s Fun Days Event at Dressler Park in Wellington. Raffle prizes include a quilt with vintage photos, a framed photo of Smith Valley Mountain, a silver medallion of Lyon County’s 150-year celebration, and a tote bag with schoolhouse picture. The raffle will be at about 3 p.m.
Additionally, all are welcome to the group’s annual membership meeting at 7 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Smith Valley Library in front of the Smith Valley High School.
