Richard Clyde

Richard was born in Sleetmute, Alaska. He was one quarter Alaskan Eskimo. Dick and LaNora were married in Anchorage, Alaska in May of 1961, and came to the States. This summer they renewed their Wedding Vows while in Anchorage, Alaska. He worked through the Operating Engineers, Local #3, in Nevada and Utah as a certified Party Chief and equipment operator. Dick and LaNora settled in Carson City in 1968, where they raised their four sons. Dick was active in the youth sports. He was also active in the Fraternal Order of Eagles, not only here in Carson City, but also in Fallon and the State. In addition, he was an active member and officer of the Ormsby Sportsman’s Association. In 1976 he went to work for the Nevada Dept. of Transportation, working in the Materials Lab. Later, he transferred to Water Resources, where he retired in 1995.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, LaNora, his four sons, Leonard Clyde (Celeste) of Dayton, Gordon Clyde (Diane) of Carson City, Wes Clyde of Dayton and Aaron Clyde (Davida) of Silverton, Washington. Four grand daughters, Kathleen Clyde, Teagan (Josh Kolodzie), Taelor Clyde and Shayla Clyde of Reno. A brother Bill Clyde of Snowflake, Arizona and sister Grace Slayter of Anchorage, Alaska.

There will be no service held. At a later date the Family will hold a Celebration of Life and plant a tree in his memory.
