Annual spring job fair is set

The Fallon Chamber of Commerce and local businesses as well as hiring agencies are hosting their annual job fair on April 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Wok Banquet Hall, next to the Wok in downtown Fallon.

Every year the Chamber connects the qualified workforce with employment opportunities. Individuals should bring copies of a neat-looking resume and also research businesses in which the applicant is interested.

The job fair normally draw up to 300 people with only a quarter of attendees being considered for employment.

Businesses and organization participants for the spring job fair include The Wok, Fallon Ford-Toyota, American Auto Sales and Home Furnishings, Janess Digital Inc. LLC, Louie’s Ace Hardware, Nevada Job Connect, Western Nevada College, Fallon Nugget and Bonanza, Highland Village, Nevada Departments of Transportation, Fleet and Family Services, JOIN, Manpower, Banner Churchill Community Hospital, Fox Peak, Choice Wireless, Jacobson Staffing Solutions, Nevada Vocational Rehabilitation, Wild West Chevrolet, Dairy Farmers of America, Vincennes University and more.

Lucy Carnahan, executive director of the Chamber, said Fallon and surrounding community members are welcome to participate. She also said the Chamber invites all businesses interested in participating to call 775-423-2544 or email info@fallonchamber.com to reserve their spot — space is limited.
