Man arrested on elder abuse, says Carson City Sheriff’s Office

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

THURSDAY

At 4:33 a.m., a 46-year-old Novato, Calif., man was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia, license suspended or revoked, no proof of insurance and expired license plate after deputies conducted a traffic stop near the 2100 block of William Street. Bail was set at $2,125.

At 10:25 a.m., Anthony Nelson, 56, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony elder abuse after deputies responded to reports of a man grabbing a woman near the 2100 block of Lone Mountain Drive. Bail was set at $20,000.

At 6:57 p.m., a 52-year-old Dayton man was arrested on suspicion of failure to appear after deputies conducted a consensual stop near Brown Street and Highway 50. Bail was set at $238.

At 8 p.m., James Ursua, 57, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony persuading a victim not to report a crime and domestic battery near the 300 block of Lee Street. Bail was set at $8,000.

FRIDAY

At 2:19 a.m., a 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to appear after deputies conducted a business check at the Highway 50 Dotty’s Casino. Bail was set at $2,000.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes. Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 775-322-4900.
