Volunteers needed to read with students in Carson City area

The Reading Partners Program is seeking volunteers to read with elementary students throughout the school year.

Volunteers can choose their own volunteer days, times, and school, and commit to as little as one hour per week during the school year.

No experience in teaching or tutoring is necessary. Volunteers need only attend one training seminar and obtain a background check through their local school district.

Training seminars are planned from 10 to 11 a.m. Aug. 14, 28 and Sept. 11 in the Carson Room of the Carson City Senior Center. Volunteers are asked to select one training session and RSVP to Wendy at creative_companion@yahoo.com.
