Douglas Drost, an Edward Jones certified financial planner, has relocated his business closer to Fallon’s downtown corridor.

In a recent ribbon cutting and grand opening of the new facility on 298 S. Taylor St., Drost, and Cynthia McGarrah, his office administrator, provided tours of their new facility, a renovated house that has been part of Fallon for generations.

Drost has been with Edward Jones since 2000 and moved to Fallon in 2003. His previous office was on West Williams Avenue across from Walmart. His office is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and the telephone number remains: 775-423-8552.

Drost said the new location places his business nearer to the city center and allows him to be a bigger part of the community through the Downtown Merchants Association and the Fallon Chamber of Commerce, where he formerly served on the Board of Directors.

The Iowa native has been involved with the Chamber of Commerce and the Fallon Rotary Club, where he previously served as president. Drost also retired with 20 years of service from the Nevada Army National Guard. He received his bachelor’s degree from Marycrest College and a master’s degree from the College for Financial Planning

As an Edward Jones financial adviser, Drost said he believe it’s important for him to invest his time to understand what individuals are working toward before they invest their money. Drost has a weekly column in the Lahontan Valley News with a variety of topics and information provided by Edward Jones.
