The Carson City Sheriff’s Office had expected to provide updated information related to the case involving threats made to Carson City Justice Court Judge John Tatro on Friday, but stated it wasn’t ready to do so.

Last week the Sheriff’s Office released information pertaining to the detainment of John Aston, 74, and possible connections to the 4-year-old investigation into threats made to Tatro. The Sheriff’s Office had planned to provide an update on the status of the investigation on Friday.

But the Sheriff’s Office stated due to on-going investigative field activity, including facility search warrants executed on Thursday, it wasn’t in a position to release any more information. Analysis of evidence submitted to crime labs, such as DNA evidence, hasn’t yet been released, the Sheriff’s Office stated.

Aston remains in custody on charges stemming from a 2011 arrests on weapons charges. He’s currently being held on $250,000 bail.
