...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT PST

TONIGHT...

* Timing: Strong winds will continue through this evening.

* Winds: South to Southwest 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 65

mph.

* Winds and Waves on Pyramid Lake: South to southwest 20 to 30

mph with gusts up to 65 mph. Waves 2 to 5 feet with highest

waves on northern and eastern shores.

* Impacts: Trees weakened by recent heavy rain and snow are

prone to falling in high winds. Power outages and property

damage such as downed fences are also possible. Plan for

hazardous travel conditions for high profile vehicles.

Consider delaying or rerouting travel around wind prone

areas. Strong turbulence and wind shear will impact aviation

interests in the region possibly resulting in delays or

cancellations.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Now is the time Secure loose outdoor items such as patio

furniture and trash cans before winds increase which could blow

these items away. The best thing to do is prepare ahead of time

by making sure you have extra food and water on hand, flashlights

with spare batteries and/or candles in the event of a power

outage.
