March 20, 1936 - Feb. 10, 2017

Jean Carol Fabrizius, 80, of Carson City, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, February 10, 2017.

Jean was born to Florence Todd Seymour, widow of Carroll Seymour, on March 20, 1936 in Maiden Rock, Wisconsin. Jean’s family moved to Nevada in the early 1940s, and eventually settled in Virginia City, Nevada. Jean graduated from Virginia City High School in 1955 and married Thomas Fettic of Carson City that same year. She worked at First National Bank in Carson City for several years. After their marriage ended in 1968, Jean went to work for the State of Nevada Employment Security Division. It was during that time Jean met George Fabrizius. They married on April 5, 1969.

Nothing gave her and George more pleasure than friends, family, gardening, and traveling. After George retired, the couple began a journey that took them all over the United States. In their travels, they were able to experience various specialty food festivals along the way. Eventually, they settled down to the “snow bird” life style, splitting their time between Carson City and Yuma, Arizona for many years. At both locales, they met many friends with whom they shared many good times. Jean always kept in touch and genuinely enjoyed her chats with her family and friends.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband George in July, 2016; her parents; and brother Lloyd Seymour (Carol).

She is survived by her brother Floyd “Buddy” Seymour (Patricia) of Virginia City; sister Marlene Delich (George) of Cody, Wyoming; son Blaine Fettic (Julia); grandchildren Mary, Brandi, and Joey; great-grandchildren Aja, Layla, and

Anthony; numerous nieces and nephews; and last, but certainly not least, her beloved puppy, Jasper.

The family thanks Saint Mary’s Hospice for its caring support over the past few months.

Walton’s Chapel of the Valley is handling arrangements and, at Jean’s request, there will be no service.
