Artists trained at some of the top art academies in Eastern Europe will be showing their work at a display sponsored by the Slavic Cultural Association of Nevada.

The Slavic art exhibition from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 30 will feature artists from the Surikov Institute, Repin Institute, Russian Academy of Art, Stroganov Institute, Penza Institute, Kharkiv Academy of Art, Kiev Academy of Art and others.

The event will be at the Washoe County Senior Center, 1155 E. Ninth St., Reno.

All paintings will be available for purchases. The $10 cost of admission includes wine and hors d’oeuvres.

A raffle, whose winner doesn’t need to be present, will be at 7 p.m.

Proceeds will help fund a Slavic festival on Oct. 1 and resources for the homeless.
