Woman arrested after pepper spraying patrons at Walmart, says Carson City Sheriff’s Office

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

FRIDAY

At 4:32 p.m., Anthony Diaz, 40, of Gardnerville, was arrested on suspicion of felony eluding and two counts of disobedience to a traffic control device after deputies attempted to initiated a traffic stop near William and Saliman Streets. Diaz was apprehended at gunpoint near John and Stewart streets. Bail was set at $20,080.

At 7:26 p.m., a 60-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, suspended registration, suspended driver’s license, front license plate required and contempt of court after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Silver Sage and Clearview. Bail was set at $2,450.

SATURDAY

At 12:54 a.m., a 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of failure to appear after deputies conducted a warrant service near Lone Mountain Drive and Winnie Lane. Bail was set at $1,480.

At 2:38 a.m., a 36-year-old Spring Creek man was arrested on suspicion of parole and probation violation after deputies responded to reports of a fight at the Telegraph Street Blue Bull Bar. No bail was set.

At 3:00 a.m., a 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of destruction of property and petit larceny after deputies responded to reports of a man denting a vehicle at the Carson Street Nugget Casino. Bail was set at $1,130.

At 7:12 a.m., a 50-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery-second offense near the 3600 block of Sherman Lane. Bail was set at $5,000.

At 9:22 a.m., a Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of obstruction, suspended registration and no valid driver’s license after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Telegraph and Curry. Bail was set at $650.

At 12:09 p.m., a 32-year-old South Lake Tahoe man was arrested on suspicion of failure to appear after deputies responded to reports of a possible petit larceny near the 2700 block of S. Carson Street. Bail was set at $915.

At 3:38 p.m., Don Hamby, 37, a transient, was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery after deputies responded to reports of a fight and theft at Mills Park. He was later arrested at the jail for felony grand larceny. Bail was set at $28,000.

At 3:58 p.m., Alida Rios, 43, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony robbery, felony probation violation, two counts of battery, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of stolen property after deputies responded to reports of a woman pepper spraying patrons and employees at the Market Street Walmart. Bail was set at $29,000.

SUNDAY

At 5:33 a.m., a 32-year-old Sparks man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, failure to maintain a lane and no insurance after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Highway 50 and Carson Street. Bail was set at $1,640.

At 6:03 p.m., a 44-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, child neglect and open container after deputies initiated a traffic stop near the Carson Street McDonald’s. Bail was set at $3,750.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes. Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 775-322-4900.
