Cancer Warriors raffle picnic table

In December, Melinda Hiibel was diagnosed with a rare cancer called adrenocortical carcinoma that attacks the adrenal glands and in Hiibel’s case, a kidney.

Hiibel is married to Jason Hiibel and they have two daughters. She is also a nurse at Banner Churchill Community Hospital and works when she can, said Laurel Topken, president of the Cancer Warriors for Central Nevada. Topken added that because this is a rare form of cancer, Hiibel must be treated out of state.

The Cancer Warriors for Central Nevada is helping the family by holding a raffle for a beautiful picnic table set which is on display at Country Health on Maine Street. The tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and can be purchased there.
