Reno Diagnostic Centers (RDC) hosted Free Mammo Mondays during the month of May with great success. RDC was able to provide 210 women with free screening mammograms through this community event.

Last year was the first time RDC expanded their Free Mammo event into a four Monday event with Free Mammo Mondays in May in order to accommodate more women. In 2016, RDC successfully screened 93 women. Jump to 2017 and RDC screened 210 women. The event was so successful, extra slots had to be added and the event was still fully booked. Of the 210 women screened, two have been called back for further evaluation to date.

“We are very fortunate to be able to provide this service to the uninsured women in our community and further demonstrate our commitment to promoting the importance of early breast cancer detection through regular mammograms. We’d also like to thank those in our community that helped us get the word out through social media and news reports,” said Terri Mahannah, executive director of Reno Diagnostic Centers.

RDC will be offering discounted screening mammograms for women without medical insurance in the month of October in connection with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
