Pizza Factory at 3120 Highway 50 is hosting a fundraiser to benefit a Carson City father fighting for his life.

Paul Guzzetta, 36, underwent emergency surgery on Feb. 2 for an infection that began in his mouth and rapidly spread to his chest. He has been on life support in the intensive-care unit of Renown Medical Center for more than a month, and his journey to recovery is far from over.

Paul, a graduate of Dayton High School and an 18-year resident of the capital city, and his wife Sheila have three kids — Anakin, 10; Lilly, 6; and Luca, 2.

The restaurant — which serves pasta, sandwiches, salads and other fare in addition to pizza — is donating 20 percent of sales made from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to the family.

Donations will help the Guzzettas pay medical bills, travel costs and other expenses.
