This year’s Bark in the Park was awesome

Watson here and I had a great time at Bark in the Park. I’m glad it didn’t rain because it’s hard to walk fast in the mud. Actually, I didn’t have to worry about walking really fast because my mom and dad weren’t balls of fire. Oh well, I got my medal and lots of treats.

Thanks to all came out with their BFFs (best furry friends) for the 5K walk/run and the festivities that followed. I am especially grateful for the furry friends who accompanied them. I got to see lots of my buddies from the dog park and even former CAPS guests.

A huge thank you also goes out to all vendors and booths that came out to support our event. I had so much fun going on the agility course. I wasn’t too keen on the tunnel, but going over the fences was cool. Mom insisted that I get a pet-a-cure, and I actually liked having my nails done. Don’t tell my mom or, the next thing you know, I’ll be getting nail polish.

I also got my photo taken by Kim Lamb, so I’ll be in the 2018 Happy Endings Calendar; be sure to order one. The dog contest was pretty cool too, but I couldn’t believe how fast some dogs can gobble down a hot dog. No, I didn’t win; I’m not bitter or anything like that because I did get a free hot dog.

We wandered around all of the booths, and everyone was so nice to me. I got lots of loving and

attention. In fact, it was the best time I’ve had in forever. Thanks to everyone who made this pup’s dream come true. I have a happy home thanks to CAPS.

LOOKING FOR A HOME

Rufus is a 2-year-old butterscotch tabby who is one mellow guy. His owners abandoned him, but fortunately the neighbors brought him to CAPS. Rufus gets along with everyone, dogs included. He just loves to snuggle and talk. Come out and chat with him; he’ll tell you a story.

Aluminum cans, which we recycle to augment our shelter funds. We are unable to pick up cans because of trailer problems, but please continue to save them.

Be Kind to Animals Week

Flower Tree Nursery will be raffling a 20-gallon tree of your choice on June 15, and the winner doesn’t have to be present to win. The raffle tickets are available at Flower Tree, and they are $1 for one ticket and $5 for six tickets.

Fallon Animal Welfare Group (FWAG) will be having their annual yard and plant sale on today and Saturday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Allen Road. Storage, unit #51.
