1970 ~ 2017

Shane Dee Johnson was born October 9th, 1970 in Elko, NV. Growing up, his 6 younger siblings were always following Shane to the next adventure. Riding dirt bikes and motorcycles, playing hide-and-seek, making forts, and swimming in ditches. He would tease relentlessly but he also always made them smile. Not one person he knew would go by their given name, as Shane would undoubtedly assign them a nick-name that he found more suitable.

He loved to work and to teach others what he knew. He was very smart and could figure out how to make, build, or do just about anything he set his mind to. Shane always had a way of winning over hearts of anyone he interacted with, with his great sense of humor and his infectious laugh. Even if you wanted to be mad at him you couldn’t stay mad for very long. He was just one of those people that made others happy just to be around him. He had a talent for drawing and painting. He would recreate lifelike images of people, animals, and nature from his memory alone. Shane loved kids and animals and they loved him, as well. Shane lived for his daughters and grandchildren, always excited to talk to them and share with them. There are so many things that his friends and family are going to miss about Shane, but we are all so very blessed to have been able to know him at all.

Shane was preceded in death by his father Stanley Dee Johnson.

Shane is survived by his daughters, Richelle Best and Amanda Ricks; mother, Leila Johnson Barber; 4 grandchildren, Alliyah, Dakota, Brayden, and Ryker; 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
