It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Thomas Barber announces his sudden passing from a stroke at the age of 57.


Rob was born in Carson City on March 23, 1960, and educated in Carson City schools, graduating in 1978. He enjoyed the outdoors, particularly hunting deer and game birds, and hiking the mountains.


Rob is preceded in death by his father Wes Barber in 2015.


He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Colleen Beattie Barber and his son, Cody Barber, as well as his mother, Norrine Barber, all of Carson City, and sister Jody Steele of Fallon. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many close friends.


A public viewing for adult friends and family will be held Friday, December 1st at Walton’s Funeral Home in Carson City, 1281 No. Roop St., from 3pm to 6pm.


A private burial will be held on Saturday, December 2nd.


Friends and family are invited to share refreshments and fellowship at the Carson Colony Senior Center (behind Rupert’s Auto Body) on Saturday, December 2nd from 4pm to 6pm, please come and share your memories of Rob.


A Celebration of his Life will be held next summer at a location in the Sierras.
