Women in Politics presentation planned for Sept. 19 in Carson City

The Carson City Republican Women’s Club will hold its September meeting on Sept. 19 at the Carson Nugget. Social time will get underway at 11 and the meeting will be called to order with lunch at 11:30 a.m.

This month’s speaker is Patty Cafferata, communications director for Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt. The topic of her presentation is “Women in Politics.”

Cafferata is an attorney, author and historian and a lifelong resident of Reno who has had a diverse career in both law and politics. She has authored numerous books about Nevada history and she also writes a newspaper column.

She is the daughter of the late U.S. Representative Barbara Vucanovich, the first woman to serve Nevada in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Lunch reservations must be made by Sept. 15 by either emailing carsonrepublicanwomen@gmail.com or calling Gale at 775-241-2054. The cost for lunch is $20 per person, cash only.
