Put on your dance shoes, warm up those vocal chords and join the Karaoke Dance Party at the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 7.

The party, sponsored by US Bank, is a free event for families, with an emphasis on the preteen set.

DJ Steven.Rocks will be playing requests and encouraging all who attend to sing their favorite songs. There will also be an opportunity to show off your dance moves.

To make the evening complete, Nevada Nosh, a local food truck, will be outside the museum so families can eat, dance and play the night away.

The Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada is at 813 N. Carson St. in downtown Carson City. The Children’s Museum is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Children’s Museum is a play-based learning experience created to inspire imagination and creativity. Children and their families are encouraged to explore the world together through interactive exhibits and programs in the arts, sciences, humanities, and history. All learning experiences are based on NV State Teaching Standards.
