Four law enforcement officers received their new badges from the Carson City Sheriff’s Office during a swearing-in ceremony on Thursday.

For the Carson City Sheriff’s Department, James Primka was promoted to lieutenant, Detective Salvador Acosta was promoted to sergeant and Benjamin Stryffeler was promoted from reserve deputy to deputy. Christopher Wolken was also sworn in as a reserve deputy.

Primka also graduated from the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

Before the swearing-in ceremony, a moment of silence was held for Carson City Sheriff’s officer Carl Howell, who was killed in the line of duty on Aug. 15, 2015.
