Homeless count Jan. 24

Churchill County Social Services will participate in the statewide Point in Time homeless count from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Jan. 24 at Churchill County Social Services, 485 W. B St., suite 105, Fallon.

The purpose of this count is to better understand the needs of homeless population within the community and the state as a whole.

“We ask that if you are experiencing a homeless situation, at risk of being homeless or participating in transitional housing program that you join us for a short survey to better understand your needs,” according to a press release. “Participants will receive a $25 gift card to Safeway and a warm blanket for their assistance.”

Jetty Rae, Indie folk singer, to perform concert

The Churchill Library Association presents a free concert featuring indie folk singer/songwriter Jetty Rae. She released her first full-length album “Blackberries” in 2007. Rae shared the stage with Sarah McLachlan and Miranda Lambert at Lilith Fair in Detroit where she was handpicked by McLachlan and Terry McBride as the featured local artist.

Grab a partner at 7 p.m. Feb. 14 and come down to the Fallon Theater at 71 S. Maine St. to enjoy the show.
