Pongracz named chair of Nevada Public Utilities Commission

Gov. Steve Sisolak has named PUC Commissioner Ann Pongracz the new chairman of the Public Utilities Commission.

He described her as one of Nevada’s foremost experts in utility law and regulation.

“Ann’s knowledge and expertise make her the perfect choice to chair the PUCN,” he said.

She was appointed to the commission last year.

Before that, Pongracz was special counsel to the Colorado River Commission and the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. Before moving to Nevada in 1993, she represented transportation and telecommunications clients before the California Public Utilities Commission.
