Violinists from STRAZZ, Carson City Symphony’s advanced youth strings, will provide entertainment during the Wine Walk from 2-3 p.m. Saturday in the Nevada Artists Association (NAA) Gallery in the Brewery Arts Center main building, 449 West King St., Carson City.

Music and gallery exhibits are free. The Wine Walk is a Carson City Downtown Business Association monthly event. Tickets are available at The Brewery Arts Center, The Carson Nugget, Carson Jewelry & Loan, Touched By Angels, Purple Avocado, Cactus Jacks Casino, or Comma Coffee for $15, or $10 for those who bring their own official wine walk glass.

The wine walk is a social event held on the first Saturday of every month. Participants can stroll to over 35 locations that pour wine, provide entertainment, and offer special deals for wine walkers. At 5:00 p.m., a raffle is held in Alatte Wine and Coffee Bar at the Carson Nugget, with many prizes donated by the downtown businesses. Raffle tickets are provided with the paid entry into the wine walk. Wine walkers can also cast a ballot, paper or online, for their favorite wine walk stop.

Symphony Youth Strings, Carson City Symphony Association’s tuition-free, after-school program for young string players, was founded in 2005 by Education Director Sue Jesch. Laura Gibson is violin and ensemble instructor. The program is supported, in part, by public funds through grants from the Nevada Arts Council and National Endowment for the Arts, and by private donations. For more information about the strings programs, see CCSymphony.com or call Sue Jesch at 775-450-5584.
