Volleyball teams compete in Yerington; girls soccer opens season

Both Fallon and Oasis Academy volleyball teams opened the season last weekend in Yerington for the two-day tournament that featured teams from the 5A, 3A, 2A and 1A.
Statistics were not available.
Oasis Academy plays its first home game of the season on Monday when it hosts Pyramid Lake at 4 p.m. at the city-county gym. The Bighorns travel to Lovelock to take on Pershing County next Thursday.
For the Greenwave, they begin cross-over play with the 3A West next week with a road contest on Monday against Wooster in Reno at 6 p.m.
In soccer, the Lady Wave travels to Spring Creek this weekend for an opening-season tournament.
