New COVID cases climbing in Quad County area

For July 22-28, Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting 162 new cases and 74 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region.
This brings the total number of cases to 13,493, with 12,946 recoveries and 233 deaths; 314 cases remain active.

Carson City had 51 new cases and 28 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Carson City is 8 new cases per day with a 11.5% test positivity rate.
Douglas County had 48 new cases and 31 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Douglas County is 5 new cases per day with a 11.0% test positivity rate.
Lyon County had 60 new cases and 12 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Lyon County is 7 new cases per day with a 11.6% test positivity rate.
Storey County had 3 new cases and 3 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Storey County is 0 new cases per day with a 0.0% test positivity rate.
 
COVID-19 Vaccination Update
 
As of July 28, 2021, approximately 169,247 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered by Quad-County providers. CCHHS has administered 68,998 doses of COVID-19 vaccine. Approximately 73,729 Quad-County residents have completed vaccination (received both doses of a 2-dose series vaccine such as Pfizer or Moderna or received the single dose Janssen vaccine) and 80,883 have initiated it (received the first dose of a 2-dose series such as Pfizer or Moderna). Data is not CCHHS’ and is taken from the Nevada Health Response Dashboard which can be found at https://nvhealthresponse.nv.gov/.
In Carson City, 28,830 residents have been completely vaccinated and 31,479 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 57.63% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Douglas County, 22,572 residents have been completely vaccinated and 24,337 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 51.16% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Lyon County, 21,676 residents have been completely vaccinated and 24,341 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 43.24% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Storey County, 651 residents have been completely vaccinated and 726 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 15.91% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.

Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing For Those With Symptoms Or Who Have Been Exposed
CCHHS will be hosting COVID-19 testing events throughout the Quad-County Region. These events are for those who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or who were exposed to someone with COVID-19. Tests are available on a first come, first serve basis; no appointments or pre-registration needed.

CCHHS is resuming testing at our building in Cason City. Testing is for those who are experiencing symptoms and will take place one day a week, by appointment only! CCHHS testing is subject to change based on demand and transmission. To be tested, call the Quad-County COVID-19 Hotline at (775)434-1988.
