DAYTON — Henry Chung, Cerritos, Calif., fired an 8-under par 64 to take medal honors in a Pre-qualifying tournament at Dayton Valley Golf Club for the PGA Tour Barracuda Championship next week. Fifteen players from the field of 44 earned a spot in Monday’s Qualifier at Hidden Valley Country Club in Reno.

 

Anthony Paolucci, Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., and Justin Warren from Australia tied for second four shots back at 4-under 68. Scott Smith of Fallon finished third with a 3-under 69.

 

Dayton Valley assistant golf professional Sean Goshert of Carson City shot a 1-under 71 to claim the 15th and final spot in the PGA Tour Monday Qualifier.

 

A field of 71 players will vie for four spots in the Barracuda Championship in the Monday Qualifier at Hidden Valley. The PGA Tour event will be played next Thursday through Friday, Aug. 5 – 8 at Tahoe Mtn. Club’s Old Greenwood Golf Course in Truckee, Calif.
