Douglas County resident is 229th COVID-19 death in Quad County area

Carson City Health and Human Services reported the death of a Douglas County resident due to COVID-19 in its weekly update for June 10-16.
The report was issued Thursday afternoon.
CCHHS is also reporting 59 new cases and 69 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. This brings the total number of cases to 12,987, with 12,563 recoveries and 229 deaths; 195 cases remain active.

Carson City had 16 new cases and 24 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Carson City is 2 new cases per day with a 4.6% test positivity rate.
Douglas County had 1 death, 12 new cases, and 23 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Douglas County is 1 new case per day with a 6.5% test positivity rate.
Lyon County had 29 new cases and 18 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Lyon County is 3 new cases per day with a 5.5% test positivity rate.
Storey County had 2 new cases and 4 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Storey County is 0 new cases per day with a 0.0% test positivity rate.
 
COVID-19 Vaccination Update
 
As of June 16, 2021, approximately 162,783 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered by Quad-County providers. CCHHS has administered 68,053 doses of COVID-19 vaccine. Approximately 68,342 Quad-County residents have completed vaccination (received both doses of a 2-dose series vaccine such as Pfizer or Moderna or received the single dose Janssen vaccine) and 74,483 have initiated it (received the first dose of a 2-dose series such as Pfizer or Moderna). Data is not CCHHS’ and is taken from the Nevada Health Response Dashboard which can be found at https://nvhealthresponse.nv.gov/.
In Carson City, 26,814 residents have been completely vaccinated and 29,224 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 53.6% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Douglas County, 21,471 residents have been completely vaccinated and 23,022 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 48.7% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Lyon County, 19,453 residents have been completely vaccinated and 21,573 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 38.8% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Storey County, 604 residents have been completely vaccinated and 664 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 14.8% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
