Lady Wave rebounds to hand Elko its first loss

Not even 24 hours after watching Lowry win its first game of the season, the Lady Wave turned around and upset Elko on Saturday, handing the Indians their first loss of the year.
Fallon returns home on Friday for a 6 p.m. match with Dayton before hosting Spring Creek at noon on Saturday.

In the 1A, Virginia City flexed its muscles on Thursday, showing why the Muckers were the state champions in 2019.

In a battle of unbeatens, Oasis Academy got off to a rough start in the first game but battled stronger in the second and third games despite losing to the Muckers in Virginia City, 25-8, 25-19 and 25-17.

The Bighorns host Pershing County, from the 2A, on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the city-county gym before traveling to Whittell, also from the 2A, on Tuesday.

No statistics were available from the Fallon and Oasis Academy matches.
