Construction of a new visitors center and amphitheater at Spooner Lake State Park begins Monday.
A spokesman said the park will remain open but parking will be restricted with the main entrance closed July 18-24. Portable restrooms will be installed for public use.
The new facilities will be able to offer interpretive programming and environmental education as well as natural and cultural history programs, ranger-led hikes and an outdoor science venue for students.
The project will be completed early next year.
