The Carson City Sheriff’s Office has been awarded gold recognition from Lexipol Connect for Excellence in Law Enforcement Policy Management.
Sheriff Ken Furlong said adoption of that standard will ensure the department’s policies are maintained through training and reviews designed to “ensure we practice what we preach.”
He said the goal is to “service the Carson community with the best trained and equipped law enforcement professionals, both sworn and non-sworn, possible.”
That includes supporting officer off-duty education advancement, career development and tenure to ensure employees servicing the community have the experience to manage the issues Carson citizens are reporting.
