Wednesday night, Carson High School hosted a players’ versus staff/coaches game in Morse Burley Gymnasium. The game started as a way to recognize the basketball seniors, who did not get a winter 2021 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Though the score didn’t ultimately matter, Carson High’s Gage Mills hit a game-winning layup as time expired in overtime to give the players a 60-59 win over the staff/coaches.
“Of all the negativity and disappointment from the season – though it wasn’t fully made up from this game – this really was a special way to celebrate the seniors,” said Carson High basketball coach Jordan Glover. “For the first time in 14 months, I felt like things were a little back to normal and I thought the players felt the same.”
